biber software package provides Much-augmented BibTeX replacement for BibLaTeX users, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install biber
biber is installed in your system.
Make ensure the biber package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep biber *
You will get with biber package name, version, architecture and description in a table
